1) What inspired you to become a fitness instructor?
I never intended to become a fitness instructor.  I started taking TRX classes at Yoga Sakti years ago with Alison Blake and was hooked. I was leaving a Boston startup company I had been with for 12 years with plans to take one year off to spend time with my kids.  I fell into teaching classes and have loved every minute of it since!
2) Describe the type of class you enjoy teaching.
I love teaching all types of classes.  I try to keep it different every time.  I find it very rewarding to teach beginner TRX and see people fall in love with it.  I also love teaching more advanced classes and really pushing everyone to their limit.
3) Describe the community you have built through classes/clubs at yoga sakti.
Yoga Sakti has really helped me build my running club - North Shore Trail Runners.  This club is now in it's 5th year and going strong.  I've met some of my best friends trail running and continue to meet phenomenal people along the way.  Through this club and connections at Yoga Sakti I've met an amazing group of runners.  We've run four 200-mile relay races and three 120-mile trail relay races together.  This past year I started a 5k training program.  It's incredibly inspiring to see the drive that people have that motivates them to start running.  Through these training programs I've seen a dozen women cross the finish line of their first 5k race! I'll start another 5k training program at the end of August and we'll run a 5k together in October.

 4) What are your hobbies/interests (running app, club please include links)
I love running more than Kanye loves Kanye. :-)  I've spent the last 16 years at Boston area startups.  After the last company I was at was acquired, a friend and I decided to take a year off to create something of our own.
We made an app for the endurance world called Kukimbe.  Kukimbe is the Swahili word for runner. Kukimbe is a technology based company that is transforming the endurance community by knitting together race discovery and personal passion for running to form a community of engaged runners and athletes.  So, my full time job is now running Kukimbe.  I moonlight as a fitness instructor, running coach and I also coach Level 3 compulsory gymnastics for the Wildcats in Beverly.

Kukimbe is a free download and can be found on the App Store and Google Play. App Store:
